Today we announced our acquisition of Gadusol Labs, an early stage company using biotechnology to produce powerful sun protective compounds found in marine life.

Sun care is a critical product category that is not meeting consumer expectations. This is creating a demand for innovative solutions to increase compliance of products, improve overall efficacy, and meet rising consumer values around sustainability and performance.

Certain species of marine life naturally produce unique molecules to protect themselves from harmful UV radiation. Gadusol's work has demonstrated that these molecules can be superior in performance, sustainability, and multi-functionality relative to existing benchmarks. Arcaea's platform is bringing these novel molecules to market at scale for the first time, ethically and sustainably.

The milestones the company has achieved to date is a testament to the incredible work the Gadusol Labs team has accomplished over the last several years. It is also a strong example of how embracing biology-first thinking can create a no-compromise solution to drive the future of industry foundational ingredients.
